Motherly – Real Talk: Toddlers Are Hard

I did it, I braved air travel for the first time with my toddler. It was three weeks before my son’s second birthday, we’d both barely made it through a nasty bought of a horrific stomach virus. We were in The Bahamas and ready to relax… HA! Have you ever traveled with a toddler? Sans help or sans grandparents? My partner Greg and I went THROUGH IT, y’all. But we survived. In the midst of the trip I escaped to the spa for a quick massage, and of course my mind was racing away in the quiet thermal pools as I waited for my treatment. What’s a writer to do besides jot it all down and get out the raw truth and feeling of what it’s like in the toddler trenches. In this first piece for Motherly, I share 5 ways to mother yourself while caring for a toddler. Warning: It’s snarky to the extreme. You’re welcome.
